Mike Calder
Memorial Giving
A Legendary Man
Mike was humble, smart, and kind beyond words. He was a masterful toffee maker and a legend in the local men's adult soccer league, co-founder of FC77 soccer club. He was an ardent Oregon State alumnus and fan and loved to follow his Premier Soccer team, NEWCASTLE. He loved to cycle, hike, backpack, snowshoe, kayak, and hang out with the dogs, and PLAY SOCCER! He was a WWII history buff and enjoyed writing - working on two novels. He touched so many with his quiet thoughtfulness and sense of humor. And now he is light and love in our hearts.
His Wishes
Mike believed ALL youth with talent and passion for soccer should have access to training and coaches that can further their skills. It bothered him tremendously that multicultural youth as well as those with limited resources were locked out without access to competitive elite youth soccer teams and tournaments because of the cost. He was known for his kindness to ALL, reaching a hand out to help whenever he could
CONTINUED IMPACT
Cada Casa is honored to fulfill Mike’s vision in providing equitable, accessible, soccer opportunities to our community. Through programming like Multicultural Soccer, Inter7, Roots Futsal, and Futsal Clandestino players of all ages have been able to enjoy the world’s game at little to no cost. We have organized a donation platform so that friends and family can directly contribute to programs that support this cause.
Cada Casa is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, and donations are tax-deductible.
