Empowering the next generation of creative by guiding high school students through the unique and personal journey of the design process.

Through hands-on mentorship and collaboration, we aim to inspire students to explore their ideas, trust their instincts, and gain skills for anything from joining the creative workforce to starting a business.

Students will learn that the design process is deeply personal and that there’s no one way to create. Whether you're drawn to photography, fashion, furniture, nail art or any other medium, this workshop will help you discover your creative voice while providing the support and resources to grow.

Our goal is simple: to inspire, guide, and celebrate the next wave of creative talent by trusting the process.

TRANSFORMATION

This session of Trust the Process will focus on the theme of Transformation.

(noun: A complete change in the appearance or character of something or someone, especially so that that thing or person is improved.)

Students will focus on the transformation of found objects. These objects will be repurposed, reinvented and reimagined into a creative expression of each individual student.

For the final exhibition students will focus on telling the story of transformation through their finished pieces.

Make whatever you want - but here are some ideas to get you started:

MENTORSHIP

Trust the Process is a 4-week creative mentorship program designed to pair students with working creatives for hands-on, 1:1 guidance. Together, mentors and students will move through the creative process — from early inspiration to experimentation and prototyping — with the goal of transforming a chosen object into a finished creative piece.

Mentors play a key role in helping students trust their instincts, navigate uncertainty, and bring an idea to life.

Time Commitment

This program runs for four Saturdays in February, from the 7th - 28th starting at 11:00 AM til 3:00 PM, held at Beaverton High School. Mentors are expected to attend all sessions to build consistency and trust with their students. The program concludes with a public creative showcase in early April, celebrating both the final pieces and the creative process behind them.

By mentoring with Trust the Process, you help create space for young creatives to feel seen, supported, and empowered to bring their ideas to life.
